Kelly Science & Clinical has a new temporary opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator – Kit Production in Detroit, MI!
A Temporary Opportunity
Shift: M-F 9:00am-5:30pm
Pay: $20/hour
Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator assembles, prepares, packages, and distributes specimen collection kits for clinical research and biospecimen programs. This role ensures kits are accurate, complete, and compliant with study protocols, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
The coordinator also supports inventory management, receiving and stocking supplies, and domestic and international shipping. This is a collaborative position that works with internal teams, couriers, vendors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble specimen collection kits according to study instructions and timelines.
- Verify tubes, labels, requisition forms, and shipping materials for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform quality checks and document kit production activities.
- Track inventory, restock supplies, and report shortages.
- Label and package kits for domestic and international shipment.
- Support receiving, shipping, and general logistics activities.
- Follow SOPs, EHS policies, and applicable GLP, GMP, GCP, GDP, FDA, and international regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, couriers, and customers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, laboratory support, or another detail-oriented environment preferred.
- Experience handling scientific materials or working with scientific terminology is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience with an ERP or inventory management system preferred.
- IATA or FedEx Dangerous Goods certification is a plus.
- Dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
- Ability to learn new processes and adjust to changing priorities.
Physical and Work Environment:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday laboratory support position.
- Requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and manual dexterity.
- Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- May require the use of personal protective equipment and handling of biological, chemical, or other potentially hazardous materials.
