Location: Horsham, PA
Work Arrangement: On-site 3–5 days per week

Position Overview
We are seeking an Automation Configuration Engineer to develop and maintain the configuration logic that converts electrical, software, and fluid-system designs into reliable, production-ready equipment. In this role, you will help ensure that complex automated systems perform consistently during manufacturing, installation, and customer use.
You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Field Service, Product Support, and customers to configure systems, troubleshoot issues, validate software, and improve development processes. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across software, electrical, mechanical, and automation disciplines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert electrical schematics, fluid diagrams, and control documentation into configuration files, scripts, and automation logic.
- Manage configuration updates throughout equipment build, integration, and testing.
- Investigate system-level problems by analyzing software behavior, electrical signals, mechanical conditions, and fluid-system performance.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions across software, electrical, and mechanical interfaces.
- Support escalated issues from Manufacturing, Field Service, and Product Support, including communication with customers when appropriate.
- Review customer requirements during quoting and order intake to identify configuration needs, technical risks, and potential impacts.
- Create and improve configuration frameworks, scripting standards, and reusable templates to reduce development time, errors, and rework.
- Develop and maintain software installation, deployment, and system-imaging scripts for internal and customer environments.
- Perform software unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation before configuration release.
- Maintain technical documentation related to configuration processes, software deployment, and system operation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- At least five years of hands-on experience configuring or programming automated systems in a manufacturing, industrial, or capital-equipment environment.
- Experience developing PLC-based and PC-based automation or control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and related technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Horsham, Pennsylvania, three to five days per week.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; employer-sponsored visa support is available for this role.
