Job Title: Machine Operator – Equipment Operator
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Work Shift: 2-3-2 schedule, 6:30 AM–6:30 PM
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Duration: 1 year
Position Type: Temporary

About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to operate simple automated assembly machines used in the production of medical devices. The Machine Operator will support safe and efficient production by following procedures, monitoring equipment, responding to basic machine faults, and maintaining product quality in a clean-room environment.

Role Summary

Operates simple automated assembly machines, jigs, and fixtures to produce quality products at established run rates. Performs equipment setup, machine monitoring, product inspection, documentation, packaging, and labeling activities.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate simple automated assembly machines, jigs, and fixtures.

  • Set up and start equipment according to established procedures.

  • Monitor equipment, interpret basic machine faults, resolve issues, and restart machines.

  • Inspect and test products to confirm quality standards.

  • Complete electronic work-order setups, production records, and required documentation.

  • Weigh, count, package, and label finished products.

  • Maintain a clean work area and follow safety and quality procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or employment assessment.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Comfortable reading and following written procedures.

  • Basic computer experience preferred, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Willingness to learn and operate multiple simple machines.

  • Comfortable performing repetitive production and inspection tasks.

  • Capacity to repeatedly move and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

  • Capability to perform visual inspections with and without magnification tools.

  • Comfortable working in a clean-room environment and handling solvents, glue, or solder as required.
