Material Handler I
Pay Rate: $17.61 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Overtime: Mandatory Saturdays may be required based on production needs
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler I to support daily production operations. This is an entry-level position that involves transporting materials, preparing shipments, maintaining inventory records, and following established procedures.
The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, dependable, and willing to learn company policies and procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Typical Duties
- Assess material needs at the beginning of each shift.
- Develop material forecasts for the assigned production area.
- Order materials needed to support the production schedule.
- Transport raw materials, components, packaging materials, finished goods, and scrap to and from the production floor.
- Complete required paperwork for outgoing materials, including intercompany bills of lading.
- Prepare outgoing materials using various methods, including scanning, labeling, and wrapping.
- Unpack and inspect received goods against purchase orders or invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of received goods.
- Identify and reject unsatisfactory items according to established procedures.
- Lift and move heavy items safely.
- Operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed and authorized.
- Record weights and shipping charges.
- Follow established work procedures, company policies, and safety guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Entry-level position; little to no prior related experience required.
- Willingness to learn company policies, procedures, and job responsibilities.
- Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to perform routine tasks accurately and consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work mandatory Saturdays for overtime when required.
- Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus.
