Sample Management Technician | Indianapolis, IN
Join a Regulatory Analytical Sciences team, where you’ll support the integrity and traceability of field research samples used in regulatory submissions. As part of the Regulatory Sciences organization, the Sample Management group ensures that homogenized samples for residue analysis are prepared, stored, tracked, and disposed of in strict compliance with GLP guidelines and company safety policies
 
 
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Duration: 1 year contract, with ability to extend or convert
Schedule: Monday- Friday, flexibility to work an 8-hour shift in the hours of 6am-6pm. Start time needs to be before 9am EST
Pay Rate: $18-23/hr
 
The Role: What You’ll Do

  • Sample Reception & Transfer: Receive, verify, and transfer field research samples submitted for preparation and subsequent regulatory residue analysis

  • Sample Preparation: Perform all core sample preparation techniques used in the department to produce homogenized samples that accurately represent original field specimens

  • Equipment Operation & Upkeep: Operate all sample preparation equipment; recognize signs of malfunction or maintenance needs and promptly report issues to your supervisor

  • GLP & SOP Compliance: Follow internal SOPs, equipment manuals, and operational/safety procedures; maintain awareness of and adherence to GLP requirements for sample processing

  • Documentation & Tracking: Maintain timely, accurate sample preparation and tracking records to ensure chain-of-custody and data integrity.

  • Lab Housekeeping & Safety: Keep work areas neat and orderly daily; follow safety policies and contribute to an audit-ready laboratory environment

 
Training & Support

  • Initial onboarding includes hands-on training in sample preparation techniques, GLP fundamentals, and department-specific SOPs.

  • Ongoing guidance is provided by the Sample Management Lead, who oversees your training program, day-to-day operations, and work priorities

  • Regular feedback and performance monitoring are conducted in coordination with the Laboratory Leader of Regulatory Analytical Sciences.

 
Qualifications

  • Education/Background:

    • High School Diploma with technical background with familiarity in common laboratory procedures

    • Science or related field degree with no experience is welcome


  • Physical & Mechanical Aptitude: Able to perform mechanical procedures that require some physical strength (up to 40lbs) and dexterity

  • Regulatory Mindset: Capable of learning and consistently applying basic GLP regulations and safety policies

  • Core Skills

    • Knowledge of sample preparation techniques used in regulatory analytical laboratories

    • Accurate recordkeeping and attention to detail for sample tracking and documentation

    • Basic proficiency with computers for documentation and data entry

    • Ability to follow SOPs, equipment manuals, and safety procedures in a GLP environment

    • Effective teamwork and communication within a multidisciplinary Regulatory Sciences group

 
Desirable Skills

  • Experience with laboratory instrument upkeep, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance coordination

  • Proven ability to task-switch, prioritize workload, and work efficiently under deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and coordination with supervisors.
