Machine Operator
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Location: Goodyear AZ 85338
Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating production equipment under immediate supervision and in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The ideal candidate will be safety-minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate manual production machinery and equipment, including:
- Wood molder machines
- Foam press machines
- Sheet metal machines, after training
- Wood molder machines
- Read and interpret job orders, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Select, position, and secure machinery, materials, and products.
- Load, unload, lift, and move materials and finished products using lifting equipment when available.
- Complete and maintain electronic processes and required paperwork, including:
- Barcoding
- Checklists
- Stamping
- Blueprints
- Shipping and receiving documents
- Accessory lists
- Material scanning
- Barcoding
- Perform pre-shift preventative maintenance.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
- Operate assigned equipment safely and effectively.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete for up to 100% of the workday.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to reach, handle, and feel materials and equipment.
- Ability to visually inspect products for quality and defects.
- Manual dexterity for tool usage and machine operation.
- Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Less than one year of experience in construction or manufacturing preferred.
- Proven ability to demonstrate the safe and effective operation of required equipment.
- Manufacturing, production, machine operation, or construction experience is a plus.
Work Environment
The role involves standing, walking, lifting, bending, and operating machinery throughout the workday. Proper safety equipment must be worn at all times.
