Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Location: Hayward CA
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, with possible overtime
Initial hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Future schedule: May transition to a swing shift, possibly 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
Pay Rate: $22.50hr

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background and experience in an automated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facilities.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimize production downtime.

  • Replace worn parts and assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.

  • Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs.

  • Document maintenance activities and work orders in a CMMS; Maximo experience is preferred.

  • Maintain spare-parts inventory.

  • Follow GMP/cGMP, SOP, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, and other safety procedures.

  • Participate in continuous-improvement projects and root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3–5 years of manufacturing, equipment, or facilities maintenance experience.

  • Mechanical background and knowledge of hand and power tools.

  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, HVAC, pumps, compressors, or automated equipment preferred.

  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

  • Basic computer skills; Maximo or other CMMS experience preferred.

  • Ability to work in a clean-room environment and wear required PPE.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform climbing, bending, kneeling, and other physical tasks.
