Job Title: Inspection Associate
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Temp to Hire
Shift: 1st Shift (6 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday – Friday)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Inspection Associate. This associate will be working with custom made glass products and inspecting for imperfections, damages, and doing repair work or determining whether a part doesn’t meet quality standard.
Responsibilities:
Production:
Ensure production of quality products on-time, safely, and at the lowest possible cost
Demonstrate respectfulness, positivity, and strong work ethic on the shop floor
Read blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
Use equipment (tape measures, gauges, templates, etc.) to measure products
Communicate to supervisor any issues with the prints, BOM, or parts
Manage inspect and pack materials inventory
Assist in daily quality decision making:

Understand Specialty Glass Products’ quality standards and customer requirements

Ensure fabricated and painted glass meets internal and customer requirements

Escalate daily quality questions as needed

Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the production team

Participate in root cause analyses and corrective action implementation
Assist with continuous improvement:

Note areas of production or quality opportunities for improvement

Aid in the enhancement of internal control systems

Fix “low-hanging fruit” opportunities independently and promptly
Assist Preventive Maintenance program
Support other SGP production as needed
Organize and clean the inspect area at the end of the shif
