About the Role

We are seeking a Production Technician I–III to join a growing automation company in Sherwood, OR.

This is a hands-on opportunity for technicians with varying levels of experience in electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, electromechanical systems, wiring, and automation. The level offered will depend on your experience, technical skills, and ability to work independently.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with technology and people. Candidates who demonstrate initiative, help improve processes, consistently meet schedules, and develop their technical skills will have opportunities to advance.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble electromechanical systems and subassemblies according to drawings, bills of materials, written instructions, and verbal direction.

  • Strip, crimp, splice, and solder electrical wires.

  • Build mechanical subassemblies using a variety of fastening methods.

  • Torque fasteners to proper specifications and sequence.

  • Route and secure cables and wiring throughout systems.

  • Build cable and wire harness assemblies, including wire as small as 26 AWG.

  • Properly apply labels and identification markings to components and cables.

  • Measure dimensions and verify proper clearances.

  • Read and understand electrical schematics.

  • Perform electrical continuity testing using a voltmeter.

  • Assist with cold checks and continuity checks.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of motors, cables, electrical panels, and mechanical assemblies.

  • Upload component firmware and configure devices according to written instructions.

  • Rework and repair equipment and products as instructed.

  • Inspect components and completed assemblies for quality, damage, and proper functionality.

  • Read and understand bill of material structures and escalate discrepancies.

  • Maintain accurate accounting of project materials.

  • Follow the redline process to document as-built changes.

  • Assist with first-article builds and subassemblies.

  • Participate in developing work instructions, cutsheets, and assembly notes.

  • Package finished goods and assist with material handling and kitting as needed.

  • Maintain a clean and organized production environment.

  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.

  • Manage multiple projects and adjust priorities as needed.

  • Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced technicians as appropriate.

  • Entry-level to developing experience in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical assembly.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience using hand tools.

  • Ability to follow detailed drawings and written instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Willingness to learn electrical and mechanical assembly processes.

  • Interest in developing a career in automation and technical manufacturing.

Production Technician II

Candidates at this level typically have:

  • Solid hands-on experience with electrical and/or mechanical assembly.

  • Experience reading electrical schematics or technical drawings.

  • Experience with wiring, cable assembly, crimping, soldering, or similar electrical assembly.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic assembly issues.

  • Experience using a wider range of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to work with greater independence and manage multiple priorities.

Production Technician III

Candidates at this level typically have:

  • Advanced hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly and troubleshooting.

  • Strong ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.

  • Experience with cable and wire harness assemblies.

  • Working knowledge of UL 508A electrical panels.

  • Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620.

  • Experience with more advanced tooling and testing equipment such as CableEye.

  • Ability to troubleshoot motors, cables, electrical panels, and mechanical assemblies.

  • Experience supporting first-article builds or developing work instructions.

  • Ability to work independently on more complex builds.

  • Ability to mentor and assist less-experienced technicians.

Technical Skills

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Electrical assembly

  • Mechanical assembly

  • Electromechanical assembly

  • Cable and wire harness assembly

  • Soldering

  • Wire stripping and crimping

  • Electrical schematics

  • Continuity testing

  • Voltmeters

  • Torque tools

  • Power tools

  • UL 508A electrical panels

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620

  • Firmware/device configuration

  • Electromechanical troubleshooting

  • CableEye or similar testing equipment

  • 5S

  • Continuous improvement

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Perform repetitive assembly tasks.

  • Use fine motor skills and manual dexterity to assemble small components accurately.

  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.

  • Work with small-gauge wiring and components.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Full-time, first-shift opportunity in Sherwood, Oregon.
