Job details

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering teams with the design, fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of electromechanical and vacuum equipment.

  • Set up processing systems and prepare equipment for development activities.

  • Provide technical support to process engineers and other laboratory personnel.

  • Interpret and apply electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, diagrams, and system documentation.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using electrical, mechanical, optical, and other precision test instruments.

  • Identify the root cause of system performance problems and complete repairs or adjustments as needed.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on processing equipment.

  • Support the safe, organized, and efficient operation of the applications laboratory.

  • Document test results, maintenance activities, modifications, and troubleshooting findings.

  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and operations staff in a team-based environment.

Required Qualifications

  • At least two years of hands-on experience testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting complex systems.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate degree in engineering technology, electronics, mechanical technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.

  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with complex assemblies.

  • Ability to safely assemble, disassemble, modify, and repair equipment.

  • Experience with prototyping, equipment testing, and laboratory or industrial test instruments.

  • Familiarity with vacuum systems, wafer-processing equipment, or semiconductor manufacturing tools.

  • Background working in a high-technology, laboratory, manufacturing, or equipment-support environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Clear written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative engineering team.
