Production Team Member

Location: Lapeer, MI
Pay rate: $19.15/hr all shifts pay same rate. 
Temp to hire
Shifts Available: 

1st: 6:45am-3:15pm
2nd 2:45pm-11:15pm
3rd: 10:45pm-7:15am Sun-Thurs.
OT possible on all shifts, both mandatory(advance notice provided) and voluntary OT.

Steel toes required. Must be comfortable working in a hot environment. 
PPE provided: Double ear plugs, safety glasses, and gloves

Responsibilities

  • Support daily production operations by performing hands-on work throughout the manufacturing process, including assembly, inspection, preparation, and packaging of bathing products.


  • Feed raw materials and components into automated or mechanical production equipment according to standard work instructions.


  • Load, unload, rack, and unrack parts throughout the manufacturing process while maintaining proper material flow.


  • Clean, inspect, trim, repair, and prepare parts to meet established customer and quality specifications.


  • Inspect finished and in-process products and make appropriate quality decisions based on established standards, work instructions, blueprints, and visual requirements.


  • Package and unpack materials, components, and finished goods according to production and customer requirements.


  • Accurately record production activity, material usage, and inventory transactions using scanners, electronic tracking systems, or other designated systems.


  • Collect, document, and report production and quality information as required.


  • Move materials and deliver parts to downstream operations to maintain efficient production flow and minimize downtime.


  • Operate powered industrial vehicles and production equipment, including forklifts, tuggers, hand carts, drills, sanders, polishers, and other assigned tools and equipment.


  • Perform basic equipment inspections and promptly report safety, quality, equipment, or operational concerns to leadership.


  • Follow established safety procedures to prevent unexpected machine startup during maintenance and other potentially hazardous activities.


  • Follow blueprints, schematics, visual diagrams, equipment manuals, and standard work instructions.


  • Follow all applicable safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and established OSHA-related safety practices.


  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas using 5S and other standard workplace organization practices.


  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and production efficiency.


  • Communicate effectively with team members, leaders, and support functions to ensure production and operational requirements are met.


  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate flexibility to support changing production needs and priorities.


  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.


  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required.


  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.


  • Ability to learn and follow standard work instructions, production procedures, and safety requirements.


  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, visual diagrams, and equipment manuals.


  • Ability to make basic quality decisions based on established standards and work instructions.


  • Forklift experience is preferred but not required; willingness and ability to operate powered industrial vehicles as assigned.


  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, production equipment, and other assigned machinery following appropriate training.


  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.


  • Ability to regularly lift, bend, reach, and work at various heights, including below waist level and above shoulder level.


  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.


  • Ability to stand and move throughout the production area for extended periods.


  • Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around machinery, production equipment, moving materials, and other manufacturing hazards.


  • Ability and willingness to work daily overtime and weekend hours as dictated by the production schedule.
