CNC Swiss Screw Machine Technician – Prospect, CT
Pay: $25–$35/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00am – 2:30pm

We are seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Screw Machine Technician to join a precision manufacturing team in Prospect, CT. This role is responsible for setting up and operating Escomatic Swiss Screw Machines to produce high-quality, precision-machined components to blueprint specifications.
The ideal candidate has hands-on machine shop experience, strong mechanical and mathematical skills, and the ability to work with tight tolerances while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Set up and operate Escomatic Swiss Screw Machines to produce precision-machined components.

  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using shop mathematics and established machining procedures.

  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and coil stock onto machines according to specifications and safety requirements.

  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools as well as specialized and advanced tooling used in precision machining operations.

  • Monitor machine feed rates and speeds throughout the machining process and make adjustments as needed.

  • Machine components to blueprint specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and GD&T requirements.

  • Measure, inspect, and test completed components to identify defects and verify conformance to specifications.

  • Use precision measuring instruments, including gauges, micrometers, and comparators.

  • Follow SPC guidelines, ISO standards, and established quality procedures.

  • Observe and listen to operating machinery to identify potential malfunctions and determine when adjustments or repairs are required.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues using mechanical and machining knowledge.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all applicable safety procedures.

  • Support production goals while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC or Swiss screw machines.

  • Experience with Swiss screw machining, preferably Escomatic equipment.

  • Ability to consistently hold and measure tight tolerances, including tolerances up to ±0.0001″.

  • Strong blueprint-reading skills, including knowledge of GD&T.

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, gauges, and comparators.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.

  • Good shop mathematics and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machines and make appropriate adjustments during production.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures, quality standards, SPC requirements, and ISO guidelines.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining production and quality expectations.
