Direct Hire | Brockton, MA | $32/hour, possibly higher based on experience

Kelly® is hiring an experienced Precision Sheet Metal Estimator for a direct-hire opportunity with a growing manufacturing company in Brockton, MA.

This role is ideal for someone with strong experience reviewing technical drawings, estimating sheet metal fabrication costs, and preparing accurate customer quotes for prototype and low-volume manufacturing projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Precision Sheet Metal Estimator, you’ll be responsible for reviewing customer drawings and specifications, determining manufacturing requirements, and developing accurate and competitive quotations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications

  • Estimate material, labor, tooling, outside processing, and overhead costs

  • Prepare detailed customer quotes and proposals

  • Evaluate project feasibility and anticipated production requirements

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams

  • Source and evaluate material, supplier, and subcontractor pricing

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality requirements

  • Analyze previous jobs to improve estimating accuracy

  • Assist with project planning, lead-time estimates, and profitability

  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding scope, pricing, and lead times

  • Maintain current knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and equipment

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with previous experience in sheet metal or precision manufacturing estimating who understands how a part moves from drawing to finished product.

Strong candidates will have:

  • Previous sheet metal estimating experience

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints

  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials

  • Experience estimating material, labor, tooling, and manufacturing costs

  • Experience using estimating or manufacturing software

  • Strong math and analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is preferred

A Big Plus

Experience with any of the following would be especially valuable:

  • Prototype or low-volume manufacturing

  • CNC machining

  • Machining estimating

  • Press brakes

  • Laser cutting

  • Punch presses

  • Welding

  • Hardware insertion

  • Finishing or outside processing

  • Precision manufacturing environments
