Forklift Operator — 2nd Shift

Kelly Services | Contract | Stanley, VA
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.
Pay: $23 per hour

Kelly Services is hiring a Forklift Operator for a fast-paced production facility in Stanley, Virginia. In this role, you’ll help keep production moving by accurately pulling, verifying, and delivering materials to the right areas of the plant.

What you’ll do

  • Operate a forklift to load, unload, move, place, and stack raw materials and doors throughout the plant.

  • Read and interpret schedules and tickets to identify material needs and determine what can be pulled from stock versus what needs cutting or profiling.

  • Pull and verify materials from the main warehouse and storage trailers.

  • Deliver core materials to layup lines and direct cores needing cuts to the core saw or profiling to the routers.

  • Confirm that required core strips for 7/0 and 8/0 doors are included with materials delivered to the lines.

  • Coordinate material flow to and from routers, the core saw, and layup lines.

  • Return materials to bins and stock leftover materials and components.

  • Respond flexibly to hot-rush and remake requests as production priorities change.

  • Communicate clearly with upstream and downstream departments and follow all forklift safety procedures.

What you’ll bring

  • Forklift operating experience and a strong focus on safety.

  • Ability to read production schedules and tickets and verify materials accurately.

  • Knowledge of SKUs, core types, material locations, and material cut requirements.

  • Ability to use a tape measure to the nearest 1/16 inch.

  • Good attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work at a steady pace.

Work environment and physical requirements

This is a fast-paced role that requires concentration and attention to detail, with limited downtime between unloading and reloading materials. You’ll frequently get on and off the forklift and may need to bend, lift, twist, or manually slide and flip materials or doors weighing up to 50 pounds. The work environment may include moderate core dust and hot or cold temperatures during extreme weather.
