  • Create and modify CNC programs and nesting layouts to maximize material utilization, production efficiency, and part quality.

  • Set machine parameters, perform test runs, and verify cutting accuracy and quality.

  • Collaborate with engineering on new product introductions, design reviews, and engineering change notices (ECNs).

  • Troubleshoot machine errors, material jams, and equipment issues, partnering with maintenance technicians and outside service providers as needed.

  • Oversee preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.

  • Train laser operators on safe machine operation, setup procedures, work instructions, and equipment adjustments.

  • Develop and update standard work instructions and operating procedures.

  • Monitor equipment performance, downtime, efficiency, and utilization; maintain production and maintenance records.

  • Manage laser consumables and ensure adequate supplies are available for production.

  • Provide hands-on production support by operating laser cutting and press brake equipment as needed.

  • Maintain organized work areas using 5S principles and follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

  • Coordinate with other shifts and departments to maintain consistent quality, safe operations, and efficient production.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training in manufacturing, CNC programming, or metal fabrication is preferred.

  • Experience operating, programming, or troubleshooting industrial laser cutting, CNC profiling, or similar metal cutting equipment.

  • Knowledge of CNC programming, nesting, machine setup, cutting parameters, and material utilization.

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify opportunities to improve machine performance and reduce downtime.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, and manufacturing work instructions.

  • Experience supporting preventive maintenance, equipment optimization, and production quality standards.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing safety practices, 5S, and standard operating procedures.

  • Ability to train operators, communicate technical information, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more with the appropriate equipment.

  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime, alternate shifts, or weekends as production needs require.

If you’re a technically skilled manufacturing professional with experience in laser cutting, CNC programming, and metal profiling, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to take the next step in your manufacturing career!
