Description
We’re seeking a Senior HubSpot Data Engineer to build and maintain the data foundation for B2B marketing. You’ll design the HubSpot data model that connects people, accounts, locations, and other records, and ensure data from the warehouse and other systems is synchronized accurately. You’ll also partner with marketing and technical teams on a migration from Iterable to HubSpot.
This is a remote, weekday role, generally scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with time-zone flexibility.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document HubSpot data models, including custom objects, associations, and labels for many-to-many relationships.

  • Align with Data Engineering and Analytics teams on source-of-truth tables, data definitions, and refresh schedules.

  • Build and maintain warehouse-to-HubSpot syncs using Hightouch or native integrations.

  • Map source fields to HubSpot properties and define keys, deduplication rules, and update logic.

  • Monitor sync health, set up alerts for failures and volume or schema changes, and resolve issues promptly.

  • Own data quality processes, including deduplication, standardization, validation, enrichment, and automated cleanup.

  • Plan and execute the migration of Iterable user attributes, events, and subscription status into HubSpot.

  • Establish governance standards for access controls, consent fields, data retention, and PII handling.

  • Keep documentation for the data model, field mappings, and operational runbooks current.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, marketing operations, or revenue operations, including 2+ years working hands-on with HubSpot data.

  • Experience designing HubSpot data models with custom objects and associations, and understanding of relevant platform limitations.

  • Advanced SQL skills, including data profiling, transformation, and validation in a warehouse such as Snowflake.

  • Hands-on experience with reverse ETL tools such as Hightouch or Census and ETL/ELT tools such as Fivetran, dbt, or Airflow.

  • Working knowledge of REST APIs and webhooks, including HubSpot CRM and Associations APIs.

  • Experience leading a large data migration while preserving relationships between records.

  • Strong documentation and communication skills, including the ability to explain data concepts to marketing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B2B go-to-market experience.

  • Python or JavaScript scripting experience.

  • Familiarity with HubSpot Data Hub and data quality automation.

  • HubSpot certifications.

  • Experience modeling account hierarchies, multi-location customers, or partner networks.

  • Experience with Salesforce alongside HubSpot.

  • Familiarity with pipeline monitoring or testing tools.

  • Knowledge of marketing-data privacy regulations such as CCPA, GDPR, and CAN-SPAM.
