Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician- Mount Olive, NJ- Research Laboratory
Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory duties under the direction of scientists and other scientific staff.
  

• Follow approved SOPs, methods, GLP requirements, government guidelines, and laboratory safety practices.
  

• Accurately document work performed and communicate progress, observations, or concerns to laboratory staff and study directors.
  

• Prepare routine solutions and reagents; wash glassware; maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization; and ensure supplies are accessible.
  

• Support sample preparation and processing, including weighing, extraction, separation, concentration, and centrifugation.
  

• Operate standard laboratory equipment and glassware; perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration as trained, including balances and pipettes.
  

• Provide day-to-day support to scientific staff and assist with general laboratory operations.
  

• Observe appropriate health and safety precautions when working with laboratory materials and equipment.
  

• Learn and apply procedures supporting environmental fate, metabolism, physicochemical, residue, and bioanalytical studies.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  

• Hands-on laboratory experience; experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory is preferred but not required.
  

• Familiarity with laboratory tools and techniques such as balances, pipettes, sample weighing, extractions, and centrifugation is beneficial.
  

• Ability to follow detailed procedures, maintain accurate records, and attend carefully to experimental details.
  

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
