Customer Service Representative

Location: Salinas, CA
Pay: $27 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

About the role

As a Customer Service Representative, you’ll serve as a key point of contact for customers and a liaison between customers, sales, and plant operations. You’ll coordinate orders, help keep production and deliveries on track, and work across teams to provide a responsive, reliable customer experience.

This role works under limited supervision on routine assignments and supports customers across one or more plants.

What you’ll do

  • Create and validate item specifications and customer projects.

  • Process customer orders and inquiries, coordinate production schedules, and help ensure delivery requirements are met.

  • Monitor order activity and inventory; flag potential issues to the appropriate teams and customers.

  • Coordinate outside purchases of services and materials needed for customer projects.

  • Prepare reports and share relevant data with customers.

  • Research customer quality concerns and support the Quality Manager in resolving routine issues.

  • Coordinate with sales, credit and collections, pre-pricing, planning, production, shipping, and plant leadership.

  • Review schedules and backlogs with operations teams to support on-time delivery.

  • Help develop and train junior-level employees.

  • Build customer specifications and review them with production teams to support efficient manufacturing.

What will help you succeed

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.

  • A customer-first approach and clear, respectful communication.

  • Collaboration skills and the ability to build productive working relationships.

  • Sound problem-solving and judgment, including the ability to evaluate options and recommend solutions.

  • Organization, prioritization, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • A willingness to learn, take initiative, and set goals for your work.

Work environment and physical requirements

This is primarily a sedentary, indoor role in a climate-controlled plant environment. The work may involve a noisy setting and requires following safety rules and regulations. You’ll frequently type, monitor computer systems, review and analyze data, and communicate verbally and in writing. The role may require processing information quickly and speaking loudly to be heard over background noise.
