Territory Sales Representative
Location: Stow, OH
Territory: Northeast Ohio
Compensation: Approximately $50,000 base salary + commission
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Kelly is seeking a Territory Sales Representative to work with our client, an established organization serving customers throughout the food-service industry, on a direct hire basis.

This position combines outside sales and account management. The representative will begin with an established portfolio of accounts while continuously pursuing new business opportunities and identifying ways to grow existing accounts through additional product sales. Customers include restaurants, schools, nursing homes, coffee shops, and residential communities with food-service operations. The company offers an extensive selection of food-service products.

Training & Work Environment: The position will be fully onsite at the Stow office for the first six months to provide hands-on training, product education, and an opportunity to learn the business. Following this period, the role will transition to a territory-based schedule involving customer visits, remote work between appointments, and periodic office visits for meetings and materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities throughout the assigned Northeast Ohio territory.

  • Manage and grow an initial portfolio of existing customer accounts.

  • Build customer relationships and identify opportunities for upselling and increased account spending.

  • Prospect for new customers through in-person visits, phone calls, email, and text communication.

  • Present products and recommend solutions based on customer needs.

  • Follow up with prospects and existing customers to generate orders and increase sales.

  • Enter customer orders and maintain accurate sales activity records using the company’s computer system.

  • Track and submit mileage daily, with reports turned in quarterly.

  • Manage daily territory activities independently while maintaining communication with sales leadership.

  • Respond to occasional Saturday customer calls or orders as needed.

Territory & Schedule
The assigned territory covers Northeast Ohio, generally extending from Sandusky to Painesville, Willoughby to Youngstown/Columbiana, and Wooster north toward Sandusky.

  • Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • No holiday work required.

  • First six months will be fully onsite at the Stow office.

  • After six months, the representative will transition to a territory-based schedule, with the flexibility to begin the day from home or the office depending on customer appointments and business needs.

  • Office attendance is required for scheduled meetings and as requested by management.

Qualifications & Ideal Background
The company is open to candidates with a variety of backgrounds and places greater emphasis on personality, motivation, and potential than on having a traditional sales background.

Preferred Experience:

  • Culinary or professional chef background is highly desirable.

  • Previous food-service or beverage industry experience is strongly preferred.

  • General sales, outside sales, or account management experience is beneficial.

  • Anyone with strong potential and a desire to learn is encouraged to apply.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Personable and comfortable building relationships with new customers.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage daily responsibilities independently.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn the company’s sales and reporting systems.

  • Organized, reliable, and eager to learn.

  • Motivated by professional growth and increased earning potential.

Previous sales experience is not required for the right candidate. The company is willing to provide the training and resources needed to succeed.

Compensation & Commission

  • Target base salary of approximately $50,000.

  • Commission opportunities begin after 90 days.

  • Tiered commission structure based on gross profit, rewarding profitable sales growth.

  • Commission payouts occur approximately two months after the applicable sales period.

  • Additional territory performance incentive becomes available after six months, based on overall territory spending.

Company Vehicle & Travel

  • Company-provided business vehicle equipped with GPS.

  • Company covers business-related fuel and vehicle maintenance.

  • Personal use of the vehicle is permitted; however, personal fuel expenses are the employee’s responsibility.

  • Daily mileage tracking is required, with reports submitted quarterly.

Benefits & Perks

  • Major medical insurance.

  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.

  • Personal/sick days.

  • Accrued vacation time.

  • Retirement savings plan options, including a Roth IRA.

  • 401(k) with company matching.
