What’s a typical day as an SMT Operator?

  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining screen printers, glue machines, reflow ovens, SMT placement machines, stencil cleaners, conveyors, and other equipment used in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards.

  • Interfacing with complex machine hardware and software.

  • Identifying and reporting defective components.

  • Inspecting your own work to ensure accuracy and integrity.

  • Following written and verbal instructions and maintaining data logs.

  • Ensuring that the product meets established workmanship standards.

  • Maintaining cleanliness in your work area and surrounding workspace.  

  • Participating in quality teams as required.

  • Training other employees as needed.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent education.

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in SMT equipment operation.

  • Are IPC-A-610 Certified (preferred).

  • Have ESD Training.

  • Have knowledge of component identification and nomenclature.

  • Have knowledge of component handling, including ESD requirements.

  • Possess basic computer skills, problem-solving, and workstation skills.

  • Have good organizational skills.

  • Can perform job functions utilizing written procedures, verbal instructions, and visual aids.

  • Can work and communicate effectively in a team environment.

  • Can prioritize and organize workload to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.

  • Have knowledge of ISO9001 and IPC-610 requirements.

  • Are willing to work flexible hours, including weekends.

  • Are a US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15.
