Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Harbor Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in optimizing our manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and improving overall productivity. This role involves reporting directly to the Head of Operations and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze current manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop optimization strategies.

  • Conduct time studies, process analyses, and value stream mapping to identify improvement opportunities in workflow, layout, and resource utilization.

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and practices to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

  • Design and maintain plant layouts, material flow diagrams, and production schedules to optimize resource allocation and minimize bottlenecks.

  • Assist in the implementation of ERP systems and other technological solutions to enhance data visibility, tracking, and reporting.

  • Lead projects focused on warehouse optimization, the establishment of supermarkets, and the implementation of inventory management systems.

  • Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, improve reliability, and optimize maintenance schedules.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff on lean principles, process improvement methodologies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy machinery or industrial manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process improvement methodologies, and operational excellence.

  • Experienced in conducting time studies, value stream mapping, and process optimization.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and other manufacturing software tools is preferred.

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating cross-functionally and leading change initiatives.
