Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts with a 3-day weekend every other week

• Day Shift: 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Kelly® is partnering with Johnson & Johnson at Mentor to recruit Medical Device Manufacturing Operators in Irving, TX. In this role, you will help manufacture silicone shells used in breast implants and other medical devices that support patient care and reconstruction.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, quality-focused team in a highly controlled cleanroom environment. The position combines hands-on production, machine operation, inspection, computer documentation, and adherence to detailed manufacturing procedures.

Job Responsibilities

As a Medical Device Manufacturing Operator, you will:

• Assemble and prepare mandrels and mandrel rods used in the shell fabrication process.
  

• Locate work orders and lot sheets, scan materials, and document each step in the computer system.
  

• Hand-dip prepared mandrels into silicone tubs using required glove-change procedures.
  

• Operate multiple ovens during the dipping and curing process.
  

• Load prepared mandrels onto a conveyor system for automated silicone spraying and layering.
  

• Monitor an approximately 5.5-hour spraying and curing process.
  

• Use barcode scanning and computer systems to verify materials and production steps.
  

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of completed silicone shells.
  

• Inflate shells using an inflation machine to identify potential defects.
  

• Use a drop gauge to confirm shell dimensions meet specifications.
  

• Record inspection results and production information accurately on tablets or computers.
  

• Use hand tools to disassemble portions of the spraying equipment and clean residual materials from the machine.
  

• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor equipment repairs as trained.
  

• Follow standard operating procedures, cleanroom requirements, safety rules, and quality standards.
  

• Maintain accuracy and focus while performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
  

• Work cooperatively with team members to meet production and quality goals.

Work Environment and Expectations

• Work takes place in a cleanroom or sterile manufacturing environment.
  

• Employees must wear required scrubs and follow strict safety and cleanliness procedures.
  

• Jewelry, makeup, lotions, perfumes, false eyelashes, and fingernails extending past the fingertips are not permitted in the cleanroom.
  

• The work requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, consistent focus, and the ability to follow precise procedures.
  

• Employees must be comfortable using computers, tablets, scanners, and production tracking systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
  

• Able to pass an eye exam during orientation
  

• Previous manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, or inspection experience preferred.
  

• Experience in a cleanroom, medical device, pharmaceutical, plastics, silicone, or other regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  

• Good manual dexterity and comfort performing hands-on, repetitive work.
  

• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  

• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
  

• Comfort working with tablets, computers, barcode scanners, and electronic production records.
  

• Ability to follow written procedures and accurately complete documentation.
  

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
