Job Title: Sanitation Associate

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday – Thursday: 11 PM – 7:30 AM

  • Saturday: 7 AM – 5 PM
    Hours are subject to business needs.

Safety Requirements: Steel-toe shoes are mandatory.

Job Summary:
The Sanitation Associate plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of food service equipment and facilities. This position is physically demanding and requires attention to detail. Associates will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing extensive plumbing systems that transport pudding from kettles to filling machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize large kettles and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).

  • Dismantle and reassemble sanitation equipment as necessary to perform thorough cleaning.

  • Utilize power washers and protective gear to scrub kettles effectively, ensuring all traces of product are removed.

  • Respond to emergency situations promptly.

  • Provide technical direction and training to coworkers as needed.

  • Maintain familiarity with Chemical In Place (CIP) operations and milk silo cleaning processes.

  • Complete master sanitation and daily paperwork accurately.

  • Stay current with safety training and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Traits:

  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to dismantle and reassemble equipment.

  • Strong comprehension of sanitation procedures and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and proper handling of chemicals.

  • Capable of maintaining effective communication in either English or Spanish, both verbally and in writing.

Equipment Used:

  • PC and proprietary software

  • Telephone and other office equipment

  • Various laboratory equipment

  • Kettle enabling system

Physical Demands:

  • Stand for the entire shift.

  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Work in varying temperature conditions, both hot and cold, occasionally.

  • Exposure to typical noise levels found in a production environment.
    Candidates must wear steel-toed shoes at all times.
