Position Overview

As a Lab Process Technician, you will follow established standard operating procedures to complete well-defined tasks, developing the technical skills necessary for routine operations. You’ll need to understand how your assignments contribute to broader workflows and communicate effectively within your workgroup. This role involves resolving straightforward problems using existing processes, with accuracy and accountability for your own work, under close to moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within strict guidelines to ensure the safe, efficient operation of designated plant areas.

  • Operate, field check, and monitor process equipment and control systems, maintaining optimal conditions in your assigned area.

  • Perform operational tasks as outlined in the Master Task List, including field checks, equipment preparation, sampling, and other routine responsibilities.

  • Conduct laboratory synthesis of catalyst samples for performance testing in lab reactors.

  • Develop fundamental troubleshooting skills to address minor deviations and process-related issues.

  • Collect and input plant metrics for Statistical Process Control, asset utilization, conversion costs, and production yields, and highlight opportunities for process optimization.

  • Build capabilities in process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.

  • Seek guidance and training from experienced R&D Technicians and Technologists to support your learning and growth.

  • Develop a foundational understanding of Life Critical Standards, plant operation discipline, and facility safety culture.

  • Complete all assigned training requirements in line with facility training plans.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s degree with emphasis in Process Technology, Chemistry, or a related field and relevant work experience strongly preferred.
