Human Resources (HR) Generalist – HR Assistant (Temporary Assignment)
Schedule: 8:30am–5:30pm (Flexibility available once trained)
Compensation: $20 per hour
Location: Saint louis, MO 63146
Assignment Duration: Minimum one month, with potential extension based on company needs
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Generalist / HR Assistant to support various HR and administrative functions in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will assist with new hire onboarding, digital file management, applicant pre-screening, and data entry, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our people processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and motivated individual looking to gain hands-on experience in human resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and prepare comprehensive new hire packets for incoming employees
- Create and maintain digital personnel files by scanning and archiving documents in the HRIS system
- Perform general filing and file management to ensure up-to-date employee records
- Prescreen job applications, conduct preliminary applicant calls, and schedule on-site interviews
- Accurately enter and update employee and applicant data in Excel and HR systems
- Utilize Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and occasionally PowerPoint, for daily tasks
- Support HR manager by taking on new administrative and project-based tasks as needed
- Assist in reviewing resumes and setting up remote (Teams) interviews with potential candidates
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience or coursework in Human Resources or office administration preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word, Excel (basic to intermediate), and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
- Positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn new tasks
