Sr. Equipment Maintenance Technician
Schedule: Compressed work week (Sun–Tue + every other Wed, 5:30 AM–6:00 PM)
Pay: $35–$50/hr (based on experience)
Summary:
Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing wafer fabrication and facility equipment. Supports production by performing diagnostics, rebuilding equipment, and recommending maintenance strategies and process improvements. Works independently on complex issues and may lead or train other technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wafer fab equipment with minimal supervision
- Perform diagnostics using test equipment
- Rebuild and modify equipment to improve performance
- Develop and recommend preventive maintenance (PM) procedures
- Analyze process data and suggest operational improvements
- Train peers and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Coordinate with engineers and external contractors
- May lead or supervise technicians on projects
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) + 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with vacuum systems, lithography tools, wet benches, or measurement equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in manufacturing equipment
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Ability to follow technical instructions and learn quickly
- Knowledge of WIP management principles
- Ability to work with hazardous materials (training provided)
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Cleanroom environment with required protective gear
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Exposure to noise, electrical systems, gases, and hazardous chemicals
