Location: Kennesaw, GA
Pay Rate: $22–26/hour (Contract Role)
Schedule: Standard day shift; typical lab hours (flexibility within standard business hours).
Contract Duration: Approximately 6–7 months (through end of year)
 
Overview:
We are seeking a Lab Technician to support the Analytical Chemistry team at our Kennesaw, GA facility. This is a contract role designed to help alleviate workload demands within a highly regulated laboratory environment. The primary focus of this position is lab operations support, inventory coordination, and general lab upkeep, with limited basic analytical testing.
This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on laboratory experience who are comfortable working with chemicals and who bring a GMP-focused mindset. While this position is not intended to be a permanent role, it offers valuable experience in a regulated medical device or pharmaceutical laboratory setting.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of chemicals, lab materials, and consumable supplies within the Analytical Chemistry Lab.

  • Place and manage chemical and material orders using internal ordering systems.

  • Perform end-of-month inventory audits and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Conduct routine laboratory cleaning and upkeep, including completion of required cleaning logs and checklists.

  • Wash laboratory glassware and support general lab organization.

  • Assist with chemical waste management, including monitoring waste containers, preparing new containers, and supporting proper disposal practices.

  • Perform basic analytical testing in a regulated environment to verify compliance of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.

    • Testing may include pH, osmolality, and Total Organic Carbon (TOC).


  • Complete non-technical administrative duties such as:

    • Filing and maintaining training records

    • SOP receipt, documentation, and storage

    • General lab documentation support


  • Follow all GMP, safety, and documentation requirements with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Support the team as needed with additional lab-related tasks.

  • Occasionally assist with preparation of biological materials (e.g., pigskin) for specific testing activities (infrequent, typically quarterly).

 
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; science coursework or degree preferred (Chemistry, Biology, or related field).

    • Recent Bachelors Graduates with degrees in a scientific discipline- preferred


  • Prior hands-on laboratory experience required (industry, academic, or undergraduate research lab).

  • Experience handling chemicals, acids, and bases in a laboratory setting.

  • Familiarity with GMP or other regulated environments strongly preferred.

  • Experience with basic analytical techniques (pH, TOC, osmolality) is a plus but not required.

  • Comfortable performing physical lab tasks including cleaning, lifting, inventory handling, and waste disposal.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to documentation accuracy.
