Packaging Lab Technician
Blue Ash, Ohio (onsite)
Hours: Mon – Fri, 9:00am – 3:00pm (schedule details may vary by business need)
Hourly Pay: $30.00/hr W2
Benefits (medical, dental, vision) + paid holidays & vacation
Position Overview
The Packaging Lab Technician provides on-site package testing support for medical devices. This role conducts testing to ensure package integrity and quality, supports new product development activities, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated (GMP) laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site transit testing and related package evaluations.
- Perform inspections and assess package integrity using methods such as:
- Seal strength testing
- Bubble leak/bubble emission testing
- Vibration analysis
- Drop testing
- Seal strength testing
- Support package lab prototyping activities and testing of development samples.
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and follow established lab procedures.
- Participate in 5S and other laboratory organization/continuous improvement activities.
- Operate with strong attention to detail, especially within GMP-regulated lab settings.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (preferred), with strong understanding of:
- Good documentation practices
- Laboratory etiquette and safety
- Compliance expectations (e.g., GMP)
- Good documentation practices
- Packaging testing lab experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with relevant equipment and practices is beneficial, such as:
- Pull gauge / tensile testing equipment
- Bubble emission testing setups
- Lab equipment qualification
- Designing or supporting Gage R&R studies
- Pull gauge / tensile testing equipment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently on-site and collaborate with cross-functional partners as needed.
