Quality Technician (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Kings Mountain, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $23–$24/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Overtime: Occasional Saturdays as required
Position Summary
The Quality Technician works in a laboratory environment performing inspections and analytical testing on raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products. This role supports quality control operations and collaborates closely with production and technical teams to ensure products meet established standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Operations
- Perform routine testing of raw materials to support purchasing decisions and reduce variability
- Conduct testing on in-process batches and finished goods; communicate results and recommend adjustments as needed
- Follow established testing procedures within the quality management system
- Accurately document and record all quality control data and test results
- Assist in investigating and resolving internal and external quality issues (nonconformances)
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with operations, production, and technical teams
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred
- Relevant experience in a chemical manufacturing or laboratory environment considered in lieu of degree
- Experience with inks, coatings, or similar materials is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to document results and communicate findings clearly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- SAP experience preferred
- Ability to distinguish color nuances (role-dependent)
- Experience with color matching or color theory is a plus
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Frequent standing and walking in a laboratory setting
- Occasional bending, kneeling, and squatting
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Exposure to varying temperatures and chemical odors

- Flexibility required for occasional Saturday overtime
