Job Title: 1st Shift Maintenance Technician II
Location: Oneida, NY
Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Pay: $24–$30+ per hour, based on experience
Benefits: Full benefits package
Job Summary:
Responsible for advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support efficient daily operations. This role requires a highly skilled and dependable individual with extensive mechanical and electrical knowledge, capable of working independently, diagnosing complex issues, and implementing effective solutions. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe, clean, and high-performing work environment. This position also serves as a backup to the Maintenance Mechanic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facility systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to schedules
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Assist with installation, setup, and relocation of equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Capable of handling physically demanding work and lifting as required
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of general maintenance/building experience
- 1+ year manufacturing experience, strong mechanical background
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to see, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers
- Walk, sit, stand, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Use of power equipment and hand tools
- Work in proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, or potential exposure to chemicals
- Exposure to allergens and particulates
