What’s a typical day as Purchasing Specialist? You’ll be:
- Resolving issues with non-conforming material, unclear specifications, or vendor capacity constraints in cross-functional teams.
- Following established procurement strategies to meet quality requirements and optimize cost, inventory, delivery, and services.
- Planning materials requirements and placing purchase orders from suppliers to support production schedules and new product launches.
- Negotiating prices and delivery terms with vendors.
- Managing purchase orders using ERP and vendor portal, including analyzing EW and VMI levels.
- Assisting stakeholders with validation of new/revised raw materials, components, suppliers, and products.
- Analyzing price and inventory forecasts and providing recommendations during annual costing.
- Generating purchase orders using the manufacturing enterprise system.
- Maintaining gross inventory targets and developing action plans.
- Identifying, planning, and executing cost and cycle time reduction initiatives.
- Participating in cross-functional projects.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Possess a minimum of 5 years previous related experience.
- Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have basic SAP knowledge.
- Can manage confidential information and build stable working relationships.
- Are bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Thrive in a team environment, working under general supervision with instructions for routine work.
