Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Control Manager for a Direct Hire position at a premier pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Rosenberg, TX. Overview:
In this role, you will directly lead and mentor a team of chemists and microbiologists in a hands-on environment, overseeing daily QC laboratory operations including sample prioritization, analytical and microbiological method development and validation, regulatory compliance, staff training, and technical troubleshooting to ensure timely and accurate testing of raw materials and finished products in a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.

Monday-Friday, standard working hours
 
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all daily activities in the QC laboratory, including sample receipt, prioritization, scheduling, and assignment of work to staff based on company objectives and project timelines.

  • Lead the development, validation, verification, and transfer of analytical and microbiological test methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products, ensuring adherence to USP, ICH, and cGMP guidelines.

  • Provide hands-on technical mentorship and troubleshooting support to chemists and microbiologists, acting as a subject matter expert in HPLC, GC, FTIR, dissolution testing, microbiological testing, and other core laboratory techniques.

  • Review, analyze, and approve laboratory test results, investigations, deviations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and changes to procedures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution.

  • Maintain laboratory compliance by ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of equipment, authoring and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and leading internal preparations for audits and regulatory inspections.

  • Facilitate team development by delivering ongoing training in lab methods, cGMP, and safety practices, and participate in administering the department’s annual budget and resource planning to support company growth and project needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in a GMP-regulated QC or Analytical Chemistry laboratory within the pharmaceutical industry, with strong technical skills in both analytical and microbiological testing methods, method development and validation, and compliance with USP, ICH, and cGMP standards.

  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, including supervising laboratory staff, overseeing daily lab operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting internal and external audits.
