Quality Lab Technician (Levels I, II, & III)

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Work Schedule: 6pm-6am with rotating nights & weekends
Industry: Food & Beverage
Hourly Pay: $23-28 per hour/DOE
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Summary
The Quality Laboratory Technician is a vital member of our production team, responsible for the sampling, testing, and inspection of finished products. You will ensure that every item leaving our facility adheres to strict company standards and customer specifications, maintaining the high quality our brand is known for.


Core Responsibilities by Level
Lab Technician I

  • Analytical Testing: Prepare samples and perform liquid analytical testing to verify finished products meet quality standards.

  • Line Inspections: Conduct routine line checks and equipment inspections at preset frequencies to ensure packaging and product specifications are met.

  • Food Safety: Perform critical safety checks on filling equipment prior to production runs.

  • Documentation: Prepare and organize production folders; maintain accurate records of all finished products and equipment testing.

  • Inventory & Logistics: Collect and test on-site retains; receive and analyze deliveries.

  • Compliance: Identify and segregate any out-of-specification products to prevent quality lapses.

Lab Technician II

  • Includes all Level I responsibilities.

  • Calibration: Authorized to perform daily calibrations on all benchtop and handheld instruments.

  • Water Analysis: Perform daily quality analysis on incoming and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water.

  • Troubleshooting: Apply technical skills to perform basic instrument troubleshooting.

  • Quality Control: Initiate and log quality holds within the tracking software.

Lab Technician III

  • Includes all Level I & II responsibilities.

  • Advanced Analysis: Authorized to perform High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) sample analysis.

  • Non-Conforming Product: Assist in the specialized collection and testing of identified non-conforming products.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; secondary education preferred.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of related experience and/or training preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn specialized manufacturing software.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.

  • Communication: Ability to read/interpret safety rules and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and speak effectively to groups.
