We’re rebuilding our high-performing sales team—and looking for an Area Sales Manager to lead expansion in the Southeast U.S.
About the Opportunity:
As our Area Sales Manager, you’ll own all commercial and strategic business development activities in your region. You’ll build relationships with top-tier OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, driving new business and guiding customers through highly technical, high-value capital equipment sales cycles. What You’ll Do:
- Drive new account acquisition and expand presence in high-potential industrial and manufacturing sectors
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry decision-makers, navigating complex, long-term solution sales
- Deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations—translating innovation into customer value
- Set and achieve ambitious sales targets, actively manage your pipeline and leverage CRM for top performance
- Partner with internal engineering and applications teams to develop and present customized solutions
- Provide market feedback for continuous improvement and represent the organization at industry events and tradeshows
- Maintain deep awareness of market trends, competition, and emerging manufacturing technology
What We’re Looking For:
- Based in the Southeast US and able to travel 40–60% (1–2+ weeks/month)
- Degree in engineering or relevant technical field
- 5+ years of successful sales experience in machine tools, metal cutting, or industrial manufacturing solutions
- Strong technical acumen—skilled in capital equipment sales, CNC machining centers, and related automation
- Hunter mindset: strategic, persistent, and focused on long-cycle, high-value consultative sales
- Strong CRM discipline (SAP experience a plus) and approach to sales analytics
- Excellent communication, executive presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-starter who thrives in a growth environment with evolving team structures
Why This Role?
- Highly competitive base salary ($100,000) plus robust performance-based incentives
- Comprehensive benefits
- Remote work flexibility within the Southeast region
- Guaranteed compensation during initial ramp-up period as you build your pipeline
- Join a rebuilding, quality-focused sales team with direct access to organizational leadership
Key Performance Indicators:
- Revenue growth and market share in target sectors
- High-quality new customer acquisition and retention
- Robust sales pipeline and conversion rates
- Consistent, accurate forecasting and reporting
