Work Schedule: Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm
Location: Groveport, OH 4312
Py rate: 18.00
Contract: Temp to hire
Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely shipments of all customer and agent orders. This position supports shipping and dock operations by verifying outbound shipments, maintaining safe loading practices, and assisting with the flow of materials, equipment, and personnel within the warehouse. Must have basic computer skills to navigate the UPS WorldShip and the FedEx Management System
Responsibilities and Duties
- Verify and pack all outbound LTL and truckload shipments for correct quantities and items
- Ensure optimum loading of all outbound trailers for accuracy, load integrity, proper load sequencing, and maximized cube utilization
- Verify proper loading to ensure safe transit of material to customers
- Help control the flow of people, equipment, and product on the dock to support order completion, receipt of incoming materials, and inter?plant transfers
- Operate digital scales as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience and Required Skills
- Minimum of 1+ years of related experience
- Must have basic computer skills to navigate UPS WorldShip and the FedEx Management System
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

- The employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use their hands to finger, handle, or feel
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
