Position: Sr. Accountant
Temp to Hire position.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant / Senior AP Specialist, This role will be responsible for AP & GL accounting, month-end close process, SOX reviews, and financial audit. A successful candidate would be someone who has a strong accounting knowledge to handle all general accounting/financial duties in compliance with GAAP and is eager to learn and grow in his/her career with the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process & review AP invoices, check run, wires/ACH – Focus on accuracy, efficiency & timeliness.
- Liaison with department heads for approvals, purchasing team and receiving team.
- Manage vendor relationship by monitoring timely payments & resolving open issues.
- Prepare/ review monthly AP accruals, prepaid amortization, fixed assets depreciation, deferred rent, and other reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end close process, account reconciliation and analysis, enter/ review journal entries, SOX compliance, financial audit.
- Responsible for the timely 1099 filings
- Provide guidance to Accountant / Staff Accountant for accurate AP processing & accounting-related questions
- Identify areas for process improvement, Participate in the Accounting/ ERP system implementation/ improvement
- Support the team with other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / business / finance. CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing company
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Excel: vlookup, if function, pivot table, etc.
- Hands-on experience processing GL
- Strong communication and analytical skills are essential
- Ability to strive in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented and able to work independently
- Expandable ERP systems experience a plus
