  • Location: 100% ONSITE – Foster City, California (94404)

  • Duration: 6-month contract – (extension potential)

  • Pay: Negotiable depending on DIRECT related experience UP to $60 – $65/hr

  • Type: W2 contract ONLY – (C2C OR THIRD-PARTY arrangements will NOT be considered)

  • Work Authorization: Must be currently located and authorized to work in the United States WITHOUT current sponsorship requirements.

 

Job Summary:

Seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Design for Serviceability efforts, ensuring electrical and electronic systems are easy to diagnose, maintain, and repair. The role focuses on evaluating diagnostics and vehicle troubleshooting documents. The engineer will collaborate with cross functional teams and work closely with field technicians to develop and refine diagnostic strategies and tools that improve the serviceability and maintainability of products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with Manufacturing, Validation, Product Development teams, to drive Serviceability requirements (Design for Serviceability) for every electronic control module and I/O.

  • Work closely with the Service Documentation team to develop diagnostic, programming, and repair procedures.

  • Evaluate electronic controls for part design interchangeability, HW/FW/SW compatibility, and bring-up requirements after replacement, in support of spare part and data file release strategy.

  • Collaboratively design, develop, and validate the on-board and off-board diagnostic test tools for reporting diagnostic codes/messages/alerts, associated I/O data parameters, and control functions for insourced and outsourced controllers.

  • Support wiring system serviceability (bundle routing, connectors, terminals, retention clips, etc) and schematic development for ease of troubleshooting and repair.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to integrate components and electromechanical systems.

  • Participate in requirements definition as it pertains to service, availability of the product, and reliability and report significant deviations for resolution.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 to 4 years of related industry experience

  • Ability to comprehend schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views/pinout

  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools.

  • Familiarity with vehicle communication networking protocols.

  • Ability to work autonomously to manage projects.

 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicles.
