Kelly Services is seeking a Diesel Trailer Mechanic in Kankakee, IL. Candidate must have:

  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs and maintenance

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a heavy industrial setting

  • Skilled with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments necessary for repair and maintenance

  • Computer experience

  • Must be able to work 5am – 5pm during peak season. Must be flexible to work lots of overtime.

Pay: $20-21/hr.

  • Hours: Mon-Fri – Must be able to work 5am – 5pm during peak season. Must be flexible to work lots of overtime.

Job duties

  • Actively participate in CMC Safety Programs and promote a strong safety culture

  • Diagnose, repair, and modify a variety of mechanical and machinery equipment, ensuring all work complies with company safety standards and procedures

  • Conduct inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently and accurately

  • Complete hydraulic and electrical repairs and maintenance assignments as required.

  • Carry out additional tasks and duties as assigned by management

  • Receive training on industrial mechanical repairs and expand your knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure fleet reliability

  • Maintain and repair fleet trucks and trailers, including complex systems such as diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, and electrical components

Experience/Education needed
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs and maintenance.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a heavy industrial setting.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency using computers.
Skilled with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments necessary for repair and maintenance.
Strong leadership and teamwork abilities; capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Flexible to work overtime when necessary.
Solid understanding of both diesel engines and hydraulic systems
