Kelly Services is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Buyer/Planner to join a dynamic operations and supply chain team in Raynham, Massachusetts. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, hands-on supply chain professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys solving complex planning and procurement challenges.
If you’re highly analytical, Excel-savvy, and passionate about keeping operations running efficiently, this role offers the chance to make a major impact across purchasing, planning, supplier management, and inventory optimization.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Senior Buyer/Planner, you’ll play a critical role in supporting production and supply chain operations by ensuring materials, components, and products are available when needed while maintaining efficient inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract forecasts and support production planning initiatives
- Develop and maintain supply plans and purchasing strategies
- Manage purchase order placement, confirmations, and supplier follow-up
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, shortages, and backorders
- Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate delivery timelines
- Track and expedite overdue purchase orders
- Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular communication and touchpoint meetings
- Analyze data and reporting to improve planning accuracy and inventory performance
- Support spare parts planning, new product introductions, and obsolescence projects
- Manage material shortages and communicate recovery timelines
- Assist with operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of Buyer/Planner experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Experience managing planning and purchasing activities through spreadsheet analysis
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-moving environment
- Professional, solutions-focused mindset with a hands-on approach
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
