Job details

Lead critical supplier quality program launch initiatives to ensure operational excellence. Oversee and execute Potential Supplier Audits (PSA’s), driving timely closure of audit gaps and compliance improvements. Manage the APQP process to support successful program launches and maintain robust quality standards. Continuously enhance Engineering Feasibility documentation by integrating lessons learned across commodities and components. Act as a key resource in resolving supply crises related to capacity and quality, while implementing strategies to elevate overall supplier performance and reliability.

Responsibility

  • Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing supplier performance through the  Supplier Scorecard System.

  • Oversee APQP, program launches, PSA audits, and crisis management to ensure supply continuity and quality.

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams and external suppliers to meet program requirements.  

  • Interpret and apply regulatory quality standards to manufacturing and quality systems.

  • Actively participate in supply base quality planning, including Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP & MSA.

  • Identify and validate gauging methods required for the supplier to ensure quality requirements are met.

  • Lead and participate in APQP meetings to drive program readiness.

  • Initiate and lead 8D Problem solving sessions with suppliers to resolve issues promptly.

  • Review and update process documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Support prototype runs, pre-production analysis, run-at-rate evaluations, early containment, and process release activities.

  • Monitor and support part readiness for program milestones.  

  • Ensure safe launch execution and manage red launch follow-up and resolution.  

  • Track lessons learned and integrate them into engineering feasibility documents by commodity/component.

  • Willingness to travel as required to support supplier development and program needs.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related engineering experience is required, electrical engineering and/or metallurgical, forgings – castings

Required Skills/Experience

  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in automotive or manufacturing environments, with electrical/electronic products and/or forgings-castings
