  • Location: 100% ONSITE - Foster City, California (94404)

  • Duration: 6 month contract – (extension potential)

  • Pay: Negotiable depending on DIRECT related experience UP to $65 – $75/hr

  • Type: W2 contract ONLY - (C2C OR THIRD-PARTY arrangements will NOT be considered)

  • Work Authorization: Must be currently located and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements.

 

Strong Candidates:

  • 4+ years experience in embedded systems or controls, with experience in firmware validation, CAN bus troubleshooting, and scripting, preferably within automotive or aerospace contexts.

  • Additional desirable skills include sensor integration, actuator knowledge, and familiarity with hydraulic systems.

 

 

Job Summary:

As a Fleet Support Engineer – Chassis, you’ll be critical to ensuring the operational uptime and reliability of our cutting-edge fleet, with a specific focus on chassis systems. We’re looking for a technical expert who excels at collaborating with cross-functional teams, meticulously documenting troubleshooting processes, and providing immediate, impactful support for daily fleet operations.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for real-time escalations regarding brakes, steering, suspension and chassis control issues.

  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis to implement both interim and permanent corrective actions.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to ride quality, vehicle stability, and suspension performance.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive troubleshooting guides for chassis components to empower field technicians and drive knowledge sharing.

  • Validate and perform component and vehicle bring-up/functional verification procedures, with a focus on chassis systems.

  • Analyze large datasets to proactively identify systematic issues and recommend preventative actions.

  • Be available for night and weekend shifts as needed, with advanced notice provided.

  • Be willing to travel occasionally to support various operational locations.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles, with a focus on Chassis/safety-control systems/ADAS.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with chassis systems, including but not limited to suspension, steering, and braking.

  • Proficiency with interpreting electrical schematics, harness diagrams, and state machine diagrams.

  • Experience with debugging Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) issues.

  • Experience with HIL/SIL Firmware Validation methodologies.

  • Experience preparing test design and test plans from Firmware requirements or State Machines.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years specifically in firmware validation for embedded systems.

  • Extensive experience with CAN Architecture, including frame-level troubleshooting using tools like Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, or PCAN.

  • Hands-on experience with fail-safe/fail-operational architectures in automotive safety-critical components such as brakes, steering systems.

  • Strong understanding of Embedded Controls (PID loops, state machines) and interfacing with physical sensors/actuators.

  • Proficiency in CAPL for automating/reviewing diagnostic routines.

  • Experience with electric vehicle technology.
