Medical Affairs Hematology Internship: Medical Communications & Scientific Exchange (MCSE)
Summer 2026 — In partnership with Kelly and Johnson & Johnson

Location: Johnson & Johnson -Horsham ,PA
Role -Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days remote
Duration – Contract – 2 months
Rate Range – $25.00/hr to $35.00/hr

About the Team:
Our Hematology MCSE team drives the medical strategy for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine hematology products, supporting the development, dissemination, and amplification of scientific communications. This includes manuscripts, abstracts, congress presentations, medical information responses, digital educational materials, and tools for Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs). We also provide targeted educational grants to help healthcare providers translate new data into clinical practice, ultimately improving patient care. Job Description:
We are seeking motivated students to join our MCSE team this summer for an exciting internship! Ideal candidates will be pursuing a degree in the sciences or business (biology/life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, business, or similar) and have a genuine interest in the pharmaceutical industry. This 3-month internship provides the opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly contribute to advancing patient care. It’s perfect for individuals with strong research and analytical skills, an interest in medicine, and a passion for innovative solutions in pharma.


Key Responsibilities:
Medical Communications & Scientific Exchange

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of medical communication materials for MSLs to support the Hematology MSL team

  • Understand and support proactive and reactive materials for congresses, publications, disease state awareness, prescribing information, and other topics

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand MSL needs and deliver solutions in compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., MSLs, Medical Directors, Medical Communications) to address strategic needs and develop effective MSL tools

  • Manage communication materials projects (track prioritization, timelines, and progress—including proactive and reactive slide decks)

  • Monitor industry innovations in MSL Communications

  • Assist in the development, review, and approval of compliant materials for proactive MSL use

  • Become proficient in retrieving and evaluating medical literature and scientific data

  • Develop medical writing expertise by researching, creating, and updating scientific response documents

Grants Operations

  • Support and track reporting from grant management systems

  • Participate in grant review processes

  • Assist with program coordination and status tracking

  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to monitor project progress and outcomes

  • Review and analyze program metrics at both activity and aggregate levels

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including field medical, in-house medical, and operations

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (biology, life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, business, or similar)

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment

  • Able to translate complex clinical concepts into clear and compelling visual displays

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced SharePoint skills a plus

  • Prior experience in pharma/healthcare is beneficial but not required

  • Experienced in leading large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong research and data analysis ability

  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills
