Job Title: General Operator
Location: Switz City, IN
As a General Operator, you will utilize standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure a safe and efficient environment while supporting
year-round production efforts.

Pay Rates:

  • Shift 1: $19.50/hr

  • Shift 2: $21.50/hr 

  • Shift 3: $21.50/hr

Schedule:

  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (subject to seasonal adjustments)

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
    Shift assignment will be determined following the interview process. Flexibility for extended hours, schedule, and shift changes is expected during harvest and the 24/7 packaging season.

Key Responsibilities:
Year-round tasks, with responsibilities evolving through the year according to production needs.

September-October (Harvest Season):

  • Receive, weigh, and unload crop trucks; verify variety and obtain samples

  • Operate harvest equipment (e.g., dryers, shellers), ensuring quality and safety standards

  • Support husk and sort operations

  • Supply Conditioning department and apply seed treatments

  • Ensure data accuracy for scale tickets and inventory systems

November-March (Post-Harvest & Packaging):

  • Label, tag, bag, palletize, and stage seed shipments

  • Record and manage inventory information

  • Support maintenance, cleaning, plant upkeep, painting, and warehouse activities

Spring/Summer:

  • Assist teams with seed crop inspection, plant maintenance, and inventory management

  • Engage in warehousing, shipping, and 5S (site cleaning and organization) activities

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Experience in agricultural, manufacturing, or warehouse settings is a plus

  • Ability to flex schedule for peak seasons and changing business needs

  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and team communication

  • Basic computer skills for inventory entry

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions

  • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed

  • Stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders throughout shifts
