Molding Machine Operator –
Location: Marion, NY
Pay: $20.83 per hour (includes shift differential)
Shift – 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
Position Summary
The Molding Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining molding presses and related equipment used to manufacture molded components in a production environment. This role supports production goals by ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are consistently met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate, load, and unload molding machines and presses.
- Set up equipment according to work instructions and production specifications.
- Monitor machine operation to ensure product quality and proper machine performance.
- Load oven racks and transport materials for processing.
- Prepare molded products for machining by cutting, sizing, and inspecting materials.
- Perform secondary operations such as trimming, threading, notching, or assembly support.
- Conduct visual inspections and basic measurements to verify product quality.
- Complete production reports, labor tracking, and documentation accurately.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following company safety standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and production defects promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility environment.
- Exposure to industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
