Kelly Services is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to join a dynamic manufacturing and supply chain operation in Waukegan, IL! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building supplier relationships, solving challenges, and keeping operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring materials arrive on time, production stays on track, and supply chain operations run efficiently. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys procurement, analytics, collaboration, and making a direct impact on business success.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and issue purchase orders through ERP/MRP systems with speed and accuracy
- Partner with suppliers to coordinate deliveries, pricing, inventory needs, and issue resolution
- Lead supplier communications and weekly order review meetings
- Monitor inventory levels and help prevent shortages or excess inventory
- Track supplier performance and maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, production, quality, and operations teams
- Identify supply chain risks proactively and help develop solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement operations
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience and understanding of supply chain operations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive under pressure
- APICS CSCP or ISM CPSM certification is a plus
