Production Lead- 3rd shift (DIRECT HIRE)
Location: New Albany, OH
Pay: 70,000-75,000/year
Hours: 10:00pm-6:00am (Sunday night – Friday morning)
Job Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing all shift operations to promote a safe work environment, drive personnel engagement, reduce costs, enhance productivity, maintain product quality, and ensure proper equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring availability and proper use of PPE by all team members.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained to perform and achieve production targets.
- Monitor and report the on-the-job training process for new and transferred employees.
- Recommend employees for cross-training to increase workforce flexibility and support operational needs.
- Serve as the visible leader on the floor, conducting all communications with respect and a primary focus on safety.
- Collaborate with management and team members to address and resolve personnel issues, and support coaching and development to achieve company objectives.
- Communicate quality and productivity expectations clearly so team members can self-correct as needed during their shifts.
- Support and liaise with Human Resources and Management in corrective action situations where necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate shift and daily production reporting; uphold quality and production standards.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel when machine, tool, or die issues impact the production schedule.
- Facilitate smooth shift transitions and effectively communicate resource challenges to Human Resources and Management.
- Oversee completion of the production schedule and promptly report any issues to Scheduling and Management.
- Manage daily job orders, employee assignments, and time-off requests.
- Maintain a visual workplace through the use of production boards, equipment status monitoring, and other effective tools.
- Take immediate action to address and resolve schedule deviations, lost time, or discrepancies in production targets.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement to Engineering and/or Management.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Demonstrated track record of strong people management, including developing and maintaining effective teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient computer skills, with experience in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Technical background in injection molding and/or high-speed assembly is highly preferred.
- Lean or Six Sigma qualification preferred.
