Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM (Mandatory Overtime)
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Kelly Services is seeking experienced Box Clamp Operators for a logistics client in Port Wentworth, GA.

Position Overview

The Forklift Operator I is responsible for safely operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role requires proficiency with a sit-down forklift equipped with a box clamp attachment—not a roll clamp. You must be able to “gut a container” (removing floor-loaded product from containers), and have hands-on experience with floor-loaded operations (no pallets) within the past year.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using forklift, clamp, and push-pull equipment

  • Safely unload inbound shipments and relocate product to storage locations

  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper handling

  • Perform picking duties efficiently and meet customer service standards

  • Move product from staging/storage areas into trailers

  • Operate all equipment safely, prioritizing careful operation and product protection—not speed

  • Maintain accurate records and reports for inventory control and security

  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and proper stock rotation

  • Report inventory discrepancies and safety concerns promptly

  • Complete equipment inspection forms before use

  • Use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy

  • Thorough knowledge of Excel and general computer use required

Skills, Experience, & Education

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of recent box clamp forklift experience—must have operated a box clamp within the past year

  • Must be able to “gut” containers, handling floor-loaded product (no pallet experience required for this site)

  • Able to identify which lever operates each function (tilt, lift, clamp open/close, side shift)

  • Demonstrates careful, efficient operation in line with client standards

  • Ability to stand/walk up to 10–12 hours and lift/pull up to 50 lbs without restriction

  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching; ability to access all areas of facility

  • Comfortable working in variable noise, lighting, and temperature environments

  • Willing to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as needed

Note: Only candidates with recent box clamp forklift experience who are comfortable with floor-loading will be considered. Be prepared to verify your experience and demonstrate familiarity with all equipment functions during the on site testing process.
