Kelly has partnered with a leading food company who is looking for a Pre Pack Worker in Plymouth, MA.
- Shift: 7-4pm
- Pay: $18-19
Responsibilities:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for efficiently operating packaging equipment and performing daily production duties in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines. This role places a strong focus on product quality, food safety, team communication, and area housekeeping.
- Operate packaging equipment, including heat sealers, metal detectors, flow wrappers, conveyors, and net weighers.
- Adjust machine settings, including temperature, speed, time, and output, to ensure proper function and product quality.
- Participate in daily packaging operations, including scaling, measuring, sealing, and quality control of food items.
- Conduct case and box building, palletizing, labelling, and preparing finished goods for shipping.
- Ensure weight accuracy and sealing quality, following packaging specifications, correct date and lot codes.
- Check in with the operations lead before starting production shifts and confirm equipment and area readiness.
- Select and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, beard nets, gloves, and aprons.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils, pans, and work areas, ensuring compliance with facility standards.
- Support shipping, receiving, date coding, and warehousing activities as needed.
- Report packaging yields, recommend process improvements, and maintain compliance with organic, allergen-free, and gluten-free handling.
- Assist in maintaining the facility’s daily cleaning and sanitation schedules.
- Adhere strictly to the daily/weekly production schedule.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a commercial baking or food manufacturing environment preferred; on-site training and certification provided.
- Understanding of Food Safety Practices and GMP guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within and across teams.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to solve problems both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced setting.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize, and work with a sense of urgency.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
