What’s a typical day as Machine Operator I? You’ll be:

  • Operating metal fabrication equipment such as punch presses, shears, rolls, power brakes, and saws to cut, bend, straighten, and form sheet metal stock or parts.

  • Creating shop aids such as stops, guides, feeding aids, and blocks to facilitate machine operations.

  • Following clearly defined procedures, guidelines, and instructions to ensure quality and safety.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Have basic technical knowledge related to machine operation (acquired through experience, specialized education, or training).

  • Are comfortable performing routine and manual tasks.

  • Can follow detailed rules and instructions and make simple judgments in straightforward situations.
