Position: Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Pay Rate: $24
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM


Position Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Shipping & Receiving Specialist, responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of goods in and out of our facility. This role plays a crucial part in supporting production and business operations while upholding safety and quality standards.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Operations: Oversee all aspects of warehousing, including material receipt, unloading, inspection, and the shipping of finished products, in compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Receiving & Inspection: Carefully receive and verify incoming deliveries, inspecting for accuracy, damage, and compliance against freight bills, vendor invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, and manifests. Report and document any discrepancies.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain precise records for all received, shipped, damaged, or defective materials. Update inventory and purchase order systems to ensure accurate tracking of incoming and outgoing goods, including back-ordered and cancelled items.

  • Order Fulfillment: Gather, verify, scan, label, pack/wrap, and load items for shipment according to order specifications and required transport methods, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

  • Inventory Security: Maintain orderly stocking, precise inventory levels, and secure storage to facilitate smooth production and timely fulfillment of orders.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in regular cycle counts, row audits, and resolve inventory discrepancies to support inventory accuracy.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on shipping and receiving equipment as per schedule.

  • Analyze shipping and receiving processes, recommending and implementing process improvements as required.

  • Provide regular updates to management regarding inventory status, issues, and suggestions for efficiency enhancements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse environment.

  • Vocational training or relevant warehouse certifications preferred.

  • Proficient knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and inventory management systems.

  • Ability to follow established procedures, with situational flexibility when necessary.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Aptitude for adapting procedures, techniques, and/or equipment to complete assigned tasks.
